Discover Guatemala’s ancient Mayan ruins
Your first stop is Guatemala, an exotic paradise prized for its dramatic volcanoes, lush rainforests and fascinating ancient Mayan ruins. Here you’ll spend two nights in a lakeview suite at La Lancha, a charming 10-room rainforest retreat overlooking stunning Lake Petén Itzá. This remote lodge is under an hour’s drive from the ancient ruins of Tikal, the epicenter of Mayan spirituality, and during your stay you’ll enjoy a full-day tour of this mystical site.
Dating back to around 700 AD, Tikal was once one of the world’s greatest cities and today remains one of its most intriguing archaeological wonders. While exploring the world-famous ruins, you’ll discover the city’s five monolithic temples (one almost 230ft high), ancient plazas, columns and ball courts, all of which hark back to a rich and powerful history.
Explore Belize’s natural wonders
Fly by private jet to Belize, located on Central America’s eastern coast and known for its thick jungle, Mayan ruins and stunning barrier reef teeming with marine life. You’ll spend the next three nights in a riverfront cabana at Blancaneaux Lodge, a rustic-luxe collection of villas and cabanas scattered along the Privasson River. While in Belize, you’ll explore the country’s idyllic natural wonders – starting with a canoe trip through the traditional Mennonite village of Upper Barton Creek, continuing to a remote cave that’s a former Mayan burial and ceremonial site.
Next you’ll head into the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve to visit the Rio Frio Cave, once a sacred Mayan burial site, where a flowing stream leads to a series of cascading waterfalls. After exploring, you’ll explore the ancient Maya archaeological site of Caracol, a partially excavated complex comprising five plazas, an astronomic observatory and a huge pyramid. Your tour ends with a refreshing dip in the cooling natural pools of Rio On.
Take a helicopter ride over Belize’s Great Blue Hole
Transfer by helicopter to Belize’s spectacular Caribbean coastline, where you’ll spend two nights in a Seafront Cottage at Turtle Inn. This beachside retreat sits steps from swathes of white sand hemmed by the azure sea. During your stay, you’ll go snorkelling along the inner reef of the Belize Barrier Reef, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Laughing Bird Caye with its pristine coral and vivid marine life. You’ll also admire a bird’s-eye view of the Great Blue Hole, a giant circular submarine sinkhole and the country’s most famous diving spot, during a thrilling helicopter ride.
Stay on an idyllic private island
The last two nights of your trip will be spent at Coral Caye, Turtle Inn’s incredible private island located off the coast of Belize. This secluded paradise offers guests the ultimate in barefoot luxury, featuring two rustic cottages surrounded by lush mangroves and powdery sands. Here you can unwind in total privacy and explore Belize’s natural wonders with an array of activities including diving, snorkelling, fishing, yoga, paddle-boarding and zip-lining.
