The Sundance Film Festival in Utah is the place to be in January if you’re an independent, creative, risk-taker, and either create your own films or want to appreciate multi-cultural films. Park City was once a charming mining town, but now boasts a mix of nightlife, shopping and art. You’ve already missed the deadline for submitting your own film, but check the Sundance website in the beginning of May 2017 for information about the 2018 Sundance Festival submissions. The 2017 full program will be available in December and is expected to have dozens of spectacular films, music, and panels. Some of the panels from last year included the “Power of Story” series, which explored the various cultures of storytelling, and Cinema Café, which gave everyday audience members the opportunity to speak with an extensive selection of filmmakers.
